New Lawsuit Targets Anthropic Over Alleged Theft of Music Copyrights

Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell, along with a number of other music publishing houses, filed a lawsuit before the Federal Court for the Northern District of California, naming Anthropic and its founders Dario Amodei and Benjamin Mann. The plaintiff companies accused the lab of launching a broad campaign to illegally download and extract protected works, describing these practices as «outright theft» of thousands of copyrighted works for the purpose of training the «Claude» model.
