One of the common mistakes made by some of those responsible for SEO on websites is to start choosing the keyword from the keyword planner. He begins by choosing a general word in the field of his website/blog and writes, for example, (cars, real estate, used phones, etc.) and then chooses some words that Google suggests to him, and based on them, he builds the pages of his website.
This method is not effective at all and will not guarantee the success of your site, especially since Google gives you some suggestions for words similar to the word you entered, and does not give you all the available ideas for keywords. More important than choosing the keyword is knowing the language the visitor speaks, or the visitor’s goal in the search process may be strange words to you, so how will you know the visitor’s goal? ..
Will I judge intentions? Let us give you a small example if you have a blog like a marketing blog in which you provide some explanations about SEO, and now you want to write a complete guide about explaining SEO and we have (2 types of visitors: Tamer, Ahmed).
Tamer: He does not have a general background in search engine optimization, but it is a type of marketing that helps him get his website to the first page of Google. Ahmed: He has a commercial website/profitable blog, and he has already done the basics of preparing his site, internally and externally, and has climbed some results on Google.
I wonder if I wrote an article explaining the search engine optimization process, would you write the same article for Tamer and the same article for Ahmed? Answer: No. Will Tamer write the semantic word in the search box the same word that Ahmed will write in the search box? Answer: No. Suppose, for example, that you chose the word (Search Engine Optimization Explained). So this is an informational word with which the visitor wants to obtain some information about SEO. Will it benefit you or the visitor if you choose this word for a page on your site that provides paid consultations to website owners?
Answer: No, so we will follow systematic steps to obtain the keywords (knowing what the visitor wants >> getting the idea >> knowing the number of researchers >> analyzing competitors). The article is large and contains many tasks that you must implement, so you may need to save the article (save as bookmark) and refer to it to implement what is in it perfectly. Before you choose keywords, you should know that there are three types of search words: 1.
Informational words: The visitor needs to know some things or information about certain things in your market, for example / profit from the Internet, how to create a WordPress blog. 2. Legal words: Now the visitor has learned about the ways to profit from the Internet and has found that the most suitable for him is to create a blog and with Dress, but he is hesitant about choosing the hosting company, so he writes in the search/the best hosting companies, how do I choose the appropriate hosting for my site.
3. Purchasing words: The visitor has decided to purchase hosting from Bluehost, but wants to obtain more information about the company or an offer. He will type in Google / Bluehost company review, discount coupons from Bluehost. Every stage the visitor goes through must be taken into consideration. How will he benefit from your blog?
How do you move it from the first step to the second step, or from the second step to the third step? This is known as the Buyer Journey because the visitor does not buy from the first day!
Step 1: Get ideas for keywords you need
The beginning is to get the largest number of keyword ideas and topics that you can write articles about for your blog (regardless of the number of searchers), but you want to get general ideas. Determine the personality of your target visitors to attract them to your blog and predict what general topics you see them interested in? Anyone interested in making a profit from the Internet needs to get to know the different sources of traffic/ways to profit without a large investment/creating and managing websites/tools and templates that he will rely on without having experience in design, programming...
To the last thoughts. There are some sources that we will turn to to get these ideas 1 ~ Forums Despite the great spread of social media, forums are still effective means of communication and an environment for presenting content among some interested people. Type in Google “keyword” + “forums.” For example, if your keyword is: raising children, we will write in the search box “raising children” + “forums.” Now, browse the results that will appear to you from the forums, then browse the sections that the forum includes, and in each section you will find ideas. New, and also browse some of the website titles written in this forum, you will find many and more ideas.
2 ~ Wikipedia is a large site that has millions of visitors and is considered a treasure trove of information in more than one language. You will certainly find great articles for the market you are talking about and unique ideas for this market, so what do you think about getting more ideas for keywords? Go to the Wikipedia website and write a general word in your market, for example / raising children. You will find many pages on the site that talk about raising children. Choose some of these pages and look at the “Contents” section on the page. There are many ideas for content and semantic words that you can get from the contents of each existing page.
3 ~ Social bookmarking What is meant by social bookmarking is the sites in which the public participates by sharing their favorite pages and articles. One of the most famous of these channels is Reddit for foreign content, but there are not many of them for Arabic content, so we do not know of anything like them except i/o accounts. You can also rely on Facebook groups and get some ideas from them. 4 ~ Self-education sites Self-education sites that offer you training courses, whether free or paid, whether foreign such as Udemy, Coursera, or Arabic such as Edraak, Rwaq, are the best place from which you can get content ideas or ideas for keywords, especially if you are providing educational content, because the lecturer took care in choosing the course topics and therefore they are great topics you can talk about.
For example, we will choose the Rwaq platform and start searching for courses related to “education.” There are about (40) educational materials in this section. After taking a quick look, we will find that the child behavior guidance course is suitable for us. We will choose this course and then we will browse the section (Subject Curriculum) as we see that the trainer has chosen an explanation of (Guiding the Child’s Behavior) and in this course she discussed the causes of negative behavior in the child, the steps to modify behavior..
etc. Through these courses you can get a lot of great ideas. 5 ~ Competitors Of course, you have collected the best blogs and websites in your field and have a list of top competitors with some of the most popular words in your field.
We will rely on this wonderful tool >> Similar web and we will copy the competitor’s basic URL and put it in the search box. It will show you a lot of information about it (part of the information is free and part is paid, but we will rely on the free part in the beginning). Then we go to the search box and you will find the most keywords that bring visitors to the site. For example, if we analyze the “Mawdoo3” website in the aforementioned way, you will find the most keywords through which visitors come to the site. For example, 0.78% of the “Mawdoo3” visitors who come from search engines are from the word “letters and professions of the prophets.”
So you might write a topic in your blog based on this word. 6 ~ Get more In this method, we will use a wonderful free tool, which is keywordtool. You put your keyword in the search box and you can specify the target language/search engine/country and it comes to you with hundreds of keyword ideas.
We also explained that the goal of the previous six steps is to get more ideas for content and keywords (regardless of the monthly search rate and the exact words we will choose)... Simply put, the keywords we will choose will be divided into two parts: short words:
It contains (two or three words) and the average search in it is more than 2000 searches per month, for example / weight loss, self-defense. The advantage of choosing such words is that you get thousands of visitors every month to your site from one article and without much effort, but it has the disadvantage that the competition is often great and you cannot reach the first result easily, especially if your site is new. Long words: These are those that contain more than three words, and the average monthly searches are small, but they are targeted, for example/ways to lose weight for pregnant women, means of self-defense for women in the street. Your choice of these words is very targeted, as you know exactly what the visitor is looking for, and you can create a suitable page for him, and the competition is small, and you can reach the first page without much effort.
But you will spend a lot of effort and time to get a large number of visitors. Imagine that you chose ten short words, each word containing a monthly search rate of 500. You will write 10 articles in order to get only 5 thousand visitors per month from search engines! We also explained that each type has its advantages and disadvantages, so you need to make a mixture in choosing words, so you choose some short words and some long words.
Step 2: Identify keywords In the previous step, we obtained a large number of ideas for the content and keywords that will be covered on our site, but what words will we take and rely on on our site? .. We will rely on the wonderful free tool that Google offers us, which is (Keyword planner). First, we will create a Google AdWords account (for free), then we will go to Tools >> Keyword Planner. Now you will find that key word planner gives you 3 options to get keywords. The most important option for us is that it allows you to get more semantic ideas and know the monthly search rate based on the word/sentence.
Which you entered “Search for new keywords using a phrase, website or category”, which is the most important option for us to know the number of monthly searches for keywords. Enter the set of keywords that you specified in the first step by placing a comma between each word like this (Search Engine Optimization, Email Marketing, Content Writing, Google Site Ranking Factors...etc.) Then specify the location/language (if you do not have a local company, specify all countries and all languages) for the rest of the search options provided by the keyword planner, as they are suitable for advertisers. On Adwords now, click on Get ideas. The average monthly search will appear (Avg.
search monthly) for the words you entered, and below you will also find some suggestions that you can use. As for (competition, suggest bid, ad impr. share, add to plan), this is information for advertisers on AdWords and is not related to SEO. Delete words that have a poor search rate and choose good words as we explained (including short words and long words) so that we can analyze the competition in the next step.
Step 3: Competitor Analysis: Take one of the words you have chosen and type in the Google search engine naturally, just like an ordinary user, until you know which pages and sites are at the top for this word. Take the first 3 results that appear to you and analyze some of the things in them, knowing the trust of the site and the trust of the page that tops the keyword (Domain authority& page authority). In this step, we will rely on the Open site explorer tool provided by Moz, or you can rely on the add-on it provides to the browser, which is MozBar.
This tool will help us to know the strength of the site we have to rise on this keyword just by entering the URL. Now I will search on Google for: bodybuilding for beginners, and I will take one of the top results and analyze it with the Moz tool. We will take into account more than one piece of information that the Domain Authority tool gives me: which is the trust of the domain itself on which the site is built.
As we can see from the displayed model >> 8/100 is a weak rating and the site’s trustworthiness is low with Google. If you intend to create a new website and make a good effort in preparing it for search engines, then, God willing, you will be able to overcome any website. Domain authority >> 25 2- Page authority: which is the trustworthiness of the aforementioned page. As we can see, the page's trust rating of 1/100 means there is no trust for the mentioned page.
3. Spam score: The tool evaluates the size of the site’s spam (more than 4/16). It is a negative evaluation that the site depends on spam.
As for the aforementioned site, its rating of 6/16 means that it takes some black hat methods and its site is not good. 4. Established domains: are the sites that point to it (Backlink). Root domains: means the number of domains that point to it.
total domains: The total number of pages or backlinks. The number is supposed to be close. For example, if Root domains = 5 and Total domains = 100, this means that he has 100 backlinks from 5 sites, and it is better to get a backlink or two from each site so that Google does not feel that you agree with the site owners. As for the mentioned site, it has 0 backlinks.
So, as a general analysis of the site, we can overcome it very easily, and we will include the word (bodybuilding for beginners) to the words that you will work on for your site. One of the things that you will evaluate yourself is the search intent (the visitor’s goal in the search process). If we think a little about the person who is searching for bodybuilding exercises for beginners, we will know that he is a subscriber who has started new in the sport of bodybuilding and has joined a gym close to his home, and wants to get some exercises and a specific schedule that he follows in order to reach his goal of sports, and a healthy and athletic body in the beginning. It is as if he asks Google and says to him: Google, I am a beginner in bodybuilding and I am torn between gym equipment, and the captain does not have much experience and is not always available for me.
I want a site with an expert who can explain to me a schedule that is suitable for me. If we analyze the first results, we will never find that they have an answer to this question or an explanation of the good system and schedule that the beginner follows. The beginner needs to arrange the exercises, taking into account whether he is skinny or fat.
The steps it follows (what it starts with and what it ends with) will require explanations in the form of GIFs or videos, and perhaps some nutritional advice. Do the top sites for this keyword not provide content with these qualities? So, you can overcome them by providing better content and advancing in search engines.
Do not think that you are doing routine work or that writing content and knowing search intent is not important, because Google has made great development in its search algorithms and the spiders that rely on them. It is trying well to rely on artificial intelligence to know exactly what the visitor wants. .. And if you search more and read about Search intent, you will know how important it is to Google and also to the visiting visitor for sure (:
. The last thing that you will analyze on competitor sites is the site’s performance internally. There are some things that Google takes into consideration for your site’s performance, as they improve the user experience process, and Google knows this from the visitor’s behavior on your site, such as: the time the visitor sits on the site, the speed at which the visitor exits the site and clicks (Back), will the visitor navigate within the pages of your site? There are some things on your site that help you increase improvements: 1 ~ User experience: What is the experience that the user will feel when browsing the site?
Is it a good experience or a bad experience? If the site owner uses a bad template such that the words and images overlap each other, or the speech is not sufficiently coordinated, or many ads (Pop up) appear as soon as you click on any area of the site page.
The user will have a negative experience while browsing the site and may exit it again, and you can overcome this part of your site. 2 ~ Site speed (Page speed) is a very important factor because if the visitor finds your site slow and the page takes 10 seconds, for example, he will most likely not be very patient and will not complete the browsing process.
We will rely on a tool
PageSpeed Insights which is provided to us by Google to evaluate the speed and performance of your site by giving you a general indication of its performance on desktop or mobile by entering the link of the site targeted for analysis. As you can see, Google gives me a green signal for my site and a rating of 87/100 on desktop, which is a very good rating, but 75/100 on mobile is considered an average rating, not bad.
If the evaluation gives you a red signal, this means that the site speed is bad and there are some things that must be fixed by the programmer. We previously talked about how website owners can increase the speed and performance of improving their WordPress sites without having programming skills. 3 ~ Social signals: As we explained that social shares are one of the necessary factors that Google relies on, it knows how interested people are in the content you provide them and shares with their friends.
We will rely on this tool to find out the number of social shares for a particular page. All you have to do is enter the link to the target page and you will get a report on the number of social shares. You will find that this page received more than 8 thousand shares on Facebook and 34 shares on Google+ (a very large number, isn’t it?)
) If you find that your competitor has received a large number of social shares, keep in mind that you are getting more than him, or superior to him in other factors of your site. 4 ~ Preparation for mobile phones Now thousands of visitors come to you from mobile phones, and if your site is not optimized to appear well for them, this will be a negative factor for Google. We will rely on this tool to find out whether the competitor’s site is mobile-friendly or not.
The site we tested is well optimized for mobile to read on small mobile screens without problems. But if a competitor's site is not mobile-friendly, this is a weakness that you can overcome. Now we have done the wonderful series to get keywords. Read also: How to make your site responsive and smartphone-friendly
Knowing what the visitor wants >> Getting the idea >> Knowing the number of searchers >> Competitor analysis >> Choosing the word In fact, the process is big and requires a lot of effort from you, but your choice of semantic words is really worth this effort.
