Historical exhibitions on Google and what they contain

These exhibitions tell the stories of momentous events that occurred over the past century, including apartheid, the Normandy landings, and the Queen's coronation. 17 entities, including museums and cultural institutions, participated in preparing these stories, based on their archives of letters, manuscripts, video testimonies from their first-hand sources, and much more. Many of these materials are very exciting, and some are available online for the first time.

Dead Sea Scrolls, where you can zoom in on images, see fascinating details, and search through millions of items for a specific country, person, event, or date. The Dolce Vita Years – A look at the Dolce Vita (Beautiful Time) era in Italy including fashion, food, cars and culture. Normandy Landings – Details of the famous landings, including color photographs, personal letters, and the landing order itself issued by Admiral Ramsay. Steve Biko - a 15-year-old political awakening that came in the midst of the apartheid movement, presents nine documents that have never before been made public.

The historical collections are the latest chapter in the work of the Google Cultural Institute.
