700 students applied to join Google's second university ambassador program, from which Google selected 234 ambassadors, representing 70 universities from across the region. Google Ambassadors Wael El-Fakharany, Regional Director of Google in Egypt and North Africa, speaks to the new Ambassadors at the opening of the second session of the Google Ambassadors Program in Universities. The training course aims to provide the necessary understanding and skills to students in order to enhance their experience at the university.
University Ambassadors will also work alongside Google teams to organize events and help spread awareness among students in the MENA region about the opportunities and value that Google and the Internet offer. The events carried out by Google Ambassadors at universities last year were able to communicate with more than 350,000 students from all over the region, and many of them received valuable scholarships and training around the world. Google Ambassadors Students invited to represent Google at their universities in the Middle East and North Africa region came to train in Egypt.
