Spanish director David Victory was selected to participate in the short film “The Guilt” and will win the grand prize, where he will receive $500,000 to create original online content for YouTube, with Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender as executive producers. Victory's movie “The Guilt” revolves around the hero “Leo,” who, after the murder of his wife, has a single thought occupying his head - which is revenge.
“Victory” was chosen based on the quality of his short film and his vision for his next project. “The Guilt” can be viewed on YouTube at youtube.com/yourfilmfestival , along with other entries from the finalists.
The selection of “The Guilt” as a winner (among the ten films that received the highest number of votes on YouTube) was supervised by a distinguished jury that includes both director Sir Ridley Scott and famous actor Michael Fassbender. The final round of the “Your Film Festival” competition was marked by the appearance of two finalists from the Middle East and North Africa region: “Rami Al-Jabri” from Egypt and his short film “This Time” and the Lebanese “Naam Al-Itani” and her film “Superfull.”
Content creators around the world are invited to submit a 15-minute narrative video in any format, style and genre to the “Your Film Festival” competition on YouTube. Ridley Scott Scott Free narrowed the search to 50 semi-finalists and the YouTube community selected the 10 finalist films. Those who qualified for the final stage were transported by plane to Venice with a grant from Emirates Airlines in Dubai, with a short break to enjoy various events, workshops and tours before departing to the famous Venice Film Festival.
