Today, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the Egyptian Telecom Company “We” announced an increase in the prices of landline internet packages by up to 40%, with the new price increase starting from Friday, January 5, 2024. The company explained that the new price increase includes all landline internet packages, as the subscription value for the 140 GB package increased to 160 pounds instead of 120 pounds, the 200 GB package rose to 225 pounds instead of 170 pounds, the 250 GB package rose to 280 pounds instead of 210 pounds, the 400 GB package rose to 440 pounds instead of 340 pounds, and the 600 GB for 650 pounds instead of 500 pounds, and a 1 TB package for 1050 pounds instead of 800 pounds. The company added that the new price increase comes as part of its endeavor to improve the quality of services provided to its customers and provide a faster and more efficient Internet experience.

On the other hand, the company has confirmed that it will continue to provide free browsing of educational and government service websites to all terrestrial Internet customers, as part of its support for government efforts in the field of education and digital transformation. The new increase in the prices of landline Internet packages came as a surprise to many customers, as the percentage of increase in some cases reached 50%, which may affect the budget of some Egyptian families. Despite this, Telecom Egypt has confirmed that the new price increase comes within the framework of its endeavor to improve the quality of services provided to its customers and provide a faster and more efficient Internet experience.

Here are some expected reactions from customers to the new price increase: Customers who primarily use terrestrial Internet for learning or remote work may be concerned that the new price increase may impact their ability to access the Internet on an ongoing basis. Customers who use terrestrial Internet primarily for entertainment may have to reduce their Internet consumption or look for less expensive alternatives. Customers looking for the best value for money may choose to move to another ISP.

The new price increase is likely to increase competition among Internet service providers in Egypt, as some service providers may seek to attract customers by offering more competitive offers. #we #Egyptian Telecommunications Company
