On April 21 – A used 2021 Mercedes-Benz S580 recently sold by a car dealership in Cincinnati was purchased using cryptocurrency. Jeff Wyler Automotive said the buyer is located in Saudi Arabia, and the deal is the first of its kind for the dealership. “We take pride in playing a leadership role in advancing this industry, whatever it takes,” said David Wyler, president of Jeff Wyler Automotive Family Group.
“This brings us closer to the user, and accepting cryptocurrency provides payment flexibility and faster sales transactions for our customers.” The buyer used Ethereum, one of the most popular forms of cryptocurrency. The agent said the process moved faster than a wire transfer typically would.
Jeff Wyler Automotive Family Group accepts 12 different types of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, at 23 dealerships in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. A press release from the company states, “Customers can pay for part of their transaction or for the entire transaction using any cryptocurrency of their choice or using a combination of cryptocurrencies.”
