The Saudi telecommunications services company Mobily signed an agreement with Ericsson to benefit from its products and solutions to support its campaign to empower the government and private sectors in the Kingdom towards digital transformation, accelerate the deployment of digital services, and expand the scope of providing Internet of Things solutions, including the smart meter project managed by the Saudi Electricity Company. This is in line with Mobily’s strategy to support digital transformation initiatives to achieve the Kingdom’s aspirations for Vision 2030. The signing ceremony was held at Mobily’s headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of Mobily CEO Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Badran.
The contract was signed by Alaa Maleki, Head of Mobily's Technology Department, and on Ericsson's side, Echo Nelson, Vice President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa. The comprehensive expansion of the Mobily network will see the deployment of Ericsson products and solutions covering transport, basic access, billing and wireless access including 5G products from the Ericsson Radio System portfolio. Ericsson Radio's products will enable spectrum assets to be consolidated and customer experiences and operational efficiencies enhanced.
Ericsson will also provide and integrate a next-generation process to enhance Mobily customer experiences, capture new opportunities and increase business efficiency as well as deliver next-generation communications services for the digital age including 5G and IoT. Moreover, consumer-enhanced mobile broadband services such as HD streaming, augmented virtual reality and gaming, and connected cloud computing are other services that Mobily offers to its subscribers. Alaa Malek, Chief Technology Officer at Mobily, said: “We have a long and successful history of partnership with Ericsson, as we strive for leadership in providing communications services and technologies in the Kingdom, including developing Mobily’s journey in expanding new generation networks and providing Internet of Things solutions. At Mobily, we strive to make our services and products a unique and viable option for customers in the government and private sectors towards digital transformation.
This is thanks to our reliance on the best technical solutions in the world to provide the high-quality and reliable services that our customers expect.” #Saudi Arabia #MobilySaudi Arabia
