New features from Yelp for business owners to increase sales and revenue

Yelp is introducing a set of new paid promotional tools for business owners to give them more control over how they appear to users. New products are primarily intended to help business owners, but they also bring greater value and benefit to consumers.

Which introduced new promotional tools to the Google My Business GMB platform last week. The first feature is Yelp Verified License: Actually introduced in March, Yelp manually verifies the license of businesses in its categories and in good standing, listings with a verified license carry a prominent blue badge that appears on their profiles. This costs $1 per day. The company says businesses with a “license verification” badge get more engagement, including clicks, calls, and map searches.

Proven licensing is still only available in categories and states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, New York, Texas, and Washington. The other two new profile features introduced are “Top Businesses” and “Portfolio”. Business Highlights feature owners choosing from about 30 icons that describe or help promote their business.

Two self-identified icons will appear in Yelp search results. The idea here is to help businesses stand out and help gain more attention in search results. The third new product is Portfolio, which allows business owners to showcase projects they have completed, such as home remodeling or landscape design. The platform allows project photos to be uploaded to subscribers.

Business offers pages include a chat feature with businesses, which helps increase conversions and receive communications from interested people. Yelp says this will help business owners promote their business more effectively and also qualify customers better by offering more content and information. All new features cost $2 per day each.
